How To Turn On Your Lifeless Immune System

How To Turn On Your Lifeless Immune System

If you've been a reader of mine even for a short time, you probably
have noticed I'm a people watcher.

As a nutrition consultant, I watch people because I need to know how their behaviors regarding food are affecting their health.
Sometimes if I strike up a conversation, I'll ask questions and they'll be amazed at how I seem to be "reading their minds."
For example, I spoke to a guy at a dinner recently who said he had acid reflux really bad and was on PPIs. After looking at what was on his plate, I wasn't at all surprised!
But I also noted that he seemed to move around gingerly so I asked him, "Do you have back problems too?"
He looked surprised. "Well, yes, I do."
I figured I'd shoot the moon at this point. "And do you find yourself getting sick a lot with things like colds, sinus infections or bronchitis?"
He looked creeped out as if I had been peeking in his windows and said, "Yeah. How did you know?"
I smiled and said, "Well, the initial clue was the acid reflux and PPI use. Trust me, never is a gut problem JUST a gut problem. It might start there but it always moves on."
Here's why that is so -- let me introduce you to...
The amazing GALT
GALT stands for "Gut Associated Lymphoid Tissue."
Your GALT lines your intestines, and ITS health is the #1 indicator of the state of health of the REST of your body.
You see, nestled in your GALT are 50-60% of your body's immune secreting cells and 70% of your antibodies. So clearly, the bulk of your immune system is in your gut.
Your GALT has a sophisticated network of "detectives" that each has their own important role in protecting you.
Everything you ingest goes through a special "interrogation process" through your system and eventually your GALT decides whether the "suspect" should be imprisoned or released.
Here's what I mean...

The journey from Ur-mouth to Uranus
Once you swallow food, bacteria, a virus or whatever (I'll call it the "suspect"), your body's first "detective" to come on the scene is actually the stomach's hydrochloric acid.
If it's food (especially protein), the hydrochloric acid will signal the release of the acid enzymes pepsin and pepsinogen to break it down.
However, if it's something dangerous like a virus, the hydrochloric acid will try to kill it.
That's why people on acid reducers and PPIs (like my acquaintance up above) are more likely to get sick a lot. They're missing this important first line of defense because it gets shut down by the medication.
Once the "suspect" has gotten beyond the stomach, it's time for the GALT force.
The first detective in the GALT is M cells.  M cells "question" the suspect and determine if it is food or not. If it is food, it's allowed to proceed and eventually be absorbed into circulation once it's broken down enough by the small intestine's enzymes.
But lo and behold, if the suspect is dangerous, the M cells present their "case" to immune cells called macrophages.
Then the macrophages sound the alarm for their "SWAT team" -- killer T cells, natural killer cells and mast cells -- cells that create a tidal wave of inflammation in your intestine to "imprison" the suspect so it can't escape any further inside of YOU.
Eventually, the "suspect" is escorted away with the muscle movement of your intestinal tract (called peristalsis), handcuffed to your BM and out it goes.

GALT -- your quiet, humble protective force
The process I've described above happens to everyone at various times. It may be going on inside of you right now and you don't even know it.
That's the amazing protective force of your GALT in action.
Just like your municipal police force quietly patrols the streets and keeps your community safe, your GALT keeps YOU safe.
But alas, my friend, many of us challenge our GALT and stretch it beyond its protective limits, day in and day out.
Things that can taunt the GALT and make it less able to protect you include medications (both OTC and prescription), alcohol abuse, poorly digested food molecules, trans-fats and chemicals from processed foods and the environment.
And is there ever "H-E-double hockey sticks" to pay when that happens!

Your GALT pushed beyond its limits
When your GALT is repeatedly assaulted with a swarm of "suspects" just like a police force trying to control a mob scene, it can only do so much and eventually it starts losing control.
Then your SWAT team starts working overtime creating a chronic state of inflammation in your gut, which eventually can make the gut wall more porous (called leaky gut).
Once your gut wall gets leaky, "suspects" of all shapes, sizes and intentions can seep into your bloodstream.
When this happens, your GALT still desperately tries to help. It releases warning signals to the rest of the immune tissues and cells in your body telling them that suspects are in your bloodstream and to be on the alert!
The first stop for suspects getting in your bloodstream is the Kupffer cells in your liver.
Like your GALT's SWAT team, if the Kupffer cells sense danger, they create inflammation to try and trap the suspect...so that means now your liver gets inflamed too.
Eventually an all-out alarm (like an APB) gets sent through your ENTIRE bloodstream and inflammation starts popping up everywhere trying to catch the suspects.
And it is precisely that inflammation that over time can lead to things like back problems, fibromyalgia, headaches, skin problems, elevated blood pressure, elevated cholesterol and more...
...conditions that you wouldn't have necessarily tied in to your gut health.
But now you know better!

Take care of your GALT
The good news is no matter how "challenged" your GALT may be right now, you can help restore its health so it can again provide its crucial protection against sickness and disease and keep inflammation low.
It just involves these 3 key steps:
1- Do the avoid-dance
This involves avoiding things that can taunt your GALT.
These can include, but are not limited to:
- Processed foods, refined carbs, soda and foods that you are (or suspect you may be) sensitive or allergic to
- Cigarette smoke
- Excessive alcohol (especially beer)
- Medications (especially antibiotics and acid reducers)

2- Bring in a supportive force
The friendly flora in your gut assists your GALT's efforts by enhancing digestion and helping to keep the gut wall strong and secure.
But unfortunately, because of things like a poor diet, stress, lack of sleep and medication use, many of us are instead walking around with a gut environment that favors harmful bacteria.
Without the protective support of friendly flora, you are even MORE likely to develop leaky gut and the all-over body wrath it can lead to like I described above.
That's why probiotic supplementation can be so helpful to SO many people. We're all subject to factors that challenge our gut flora at one time or another.
Now as far as probiotics go, Super Shield multi-strain formula is your ticket for helping to restore a strong flora balance.
Research studies have shown that it is important to use more than one strain of probiotic bacteria when tackling harmful bacteria overgrowth.
Two of the powerhouse strains in Super Shield probiotic formula,
Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Lactobacillus acidophilus, have been shown to be extremely effective in fighting dangerous gut microbes.

And Super Shield's 11 other potent strains support L. rhamnosus and L. acidophilus in keeping your intestinal flora in a healthy balance, ready and able to "keep the upper hand" over harmful bacteria, and strengthen your intestinal wall.

3- Make food a friend -- not a foe
One of the things that taunts your GALT is poorly digested food molecules. It's as if the GALT can't recognize the "suspect" as food and instead it reacts as if it's dangerous.
So to avoid putting your GALT on alert needlessly, it's vital to eat foods and meals that your body can effectively break down.
This involves eating REAL (not processed) foods like fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and lean meats, plus keeping ALL of your meals easy to digest.
The Great Taste No Pain system can guide you on how to construct easy, tasty meals that are a snap for your body to digest.
Not only does better digestion help prevent GALT problems, but it also means you'll likely see fewer digestive problems like acid reflux, gas, bloating and constipation too!
And if you're gluten sensitive, no problem -- Great Taste No Gluten is for you instead.

So there you have it.
You are officially an expert in why your GALT literally controls your health from head to toe.
Now it's time for YOU to do something about YOURS.
Believe me, nothing you could do will make a bigger impact on how you feel today, tomorrow and all of your days.
To your health,
Sherry Brescia

PPS:  Colon surgery didn't stop Colleen's problems...but GTNP did!
Hi Sherry,
I started your Great Taste No Pain plan almost 2 weeks ago and have been telling everyone at work about it.
I cannot believe how many people are suffering with digestive issues. It's crazy.
I was diagnosed with diverticulitis and my colon was perforated. I had no choice back then but to have the surgery. It was an excruciating experience.
Since starting your plan I feel fantastic! I was taking Prilosec everyday and still having acid indigestion. I no longer even need to take it.
I have Iost weight and have tons of energy.
I used to get headaches daily and have not had one since starting the plan!
This has saved my life!
I will not stop until I can get my loved ones to listen to me about your plan.
Thank you,
Colleen

Eating organic foods straight from God are the healing way to life and health. The planned genocide on humanity and especially developed nations is astonishing and shocking. Nobody wants to hear about it. It's time to talk now!
